John Mulder
Administrator
|
John earned an AA degree from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1968, a BS in accounting from Mankato State University in 1970 and Health Care Administration from Des Moines Area Community College.
He has been an administrator in the hospital and long term care setting for over twenty years. He has served in this position in SD, MN, MO and IA. He is an employee of Continuum Health Care Services of Ankeny, IA. Continuum Health Care Services provides management and financial advice and services for Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center.
John and his wife moved to Riceville in 2008 and live just a few blocks from the nursing home. They have a son and a daughter who both live in Marion, IA. They also recently became grandparent to their son's daughter who was born in Sept of 2009.
He is also active in community events, having served as President of the Riceville Community Club and currently is the President of the Riceville Kiwanis.

Sharon Adams
Business Office Manager
|
Sharon is the Business Office Manager at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. She earned her General Secretary Certificate from RCTC.
She previously worked at H&R Block and Sacred Heart Hospice.
Sharon and her husband Gary farm by Riceville. They have 3 children and 1 grandchild. In her free time Sharon enjoys biking, kayaking and camping with her family.

Linda Weida
Director of Nursing

Linda earned her Associate Degree from NITI. She has been with Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center (then known as The Riceville Rest Home) since it was built in 1972. She started as a CNA, then onto Charge Nurse and then in 1982 became the Director of Nursing.
Linda has been married for over 40 years. She has 3 children and 1 grandchild. She enjoys walking and reading as her pastimes.

Cheryl Julius
Social Services Department
|
Cheryl holds the position of Social Services Designee/Medical Records. She has worked with the elderly as a CNA for 16 years. She took classes at Mason City College and became certified as an Activity Director. She has shared that position for awhile. For the past 17 years she has worked in Social Services & Medical Records.
She is currently engaged and her fiance' has two children and 9 grandchildren (who keeps them busy). She enjoys walking, gardening, shopping and spending time with her family in her free time.

Shelly Counsell
Activity Director
|
Shelly is the Activity Director at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. She has worked in this position since 2004 in various area facilities.
She and her husband Don have 2 boys, Derek and Cole. They live on a beautiful acreage near Orchard, IA.
In her spare time Shelly enjoys reading, surfing the Internet and watching the boys in play football and attends the fair to watch them show sheep.
Recently she has been busy putting together a facility cook book that is scheduled to be published in July/August of 2010.

Sue Rawhouser
Dietary Supervisor

Sue has received Dietary Supervisor Training, Serve Safe Food Training and Congregate Meals Coordinator.
Sue and her late husband have 3 daughters and 1 grandson. She enjoys gardening, cooking, baking, reading and spending time with her family... especially her grandson Braxton!

Will Johnson
Physical Therapy Assistant

Will earned his AA in Human Health from Northern Iowa Area Community College.
He lives in the area helping with the family farm. He enjoys fishing, golfing and having cook outs with family and friends.
He is a contracted provider employed by Northern Iowa Therapy located in Waverly, IA.

Jeff Nasstrom, D.O.
|
Dr. Nasstrom was born in Fridley, Minnesota. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and then completed his medical schooling at Des Moines University. Dr. Nasstrom completed his residency training at Broadlawns, Des Moines, Iowa and is board certified in Family Practice.
Dr. Nasstrom and his wife, Angela, have four children—Lauren, Erica, Bailey and Carson. Dr. Nasstrom enjoys running, biking, basketball and is an active member of the Kiwanis Club.

Marc E. Waitek, PA-c
|
Marc Waitek, born and raised in Cedar Falls, Iowa received his Physician Assistant Certification from the University of North Dakota in May 1984. Marc has emergency room, orthopedic, surgical, and family practice experience. He served the Dumont rural health clinic and Hampton region for 14 years before joining the staff of Mitchell County Regional Health Center.
Marc is an Assistant Scout Master, enjoys waterfowl hunting, fishing, canoeing, and hiking. He has a long time interest in finding and restoring old British Land Rovers. Marc has a son Ethan and a daughter Emily.

Dr. Lisa Gerdts
|
Dr. Gerdts is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. She completed her surgical residency in Kansas City, Missouri and received her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and is an Osage Community High School graduate.
Dr. Gerdts and her husband Doug, live in rural Osage with three children, Garrison, Logan and Colton. |
