Katie Mayer, BSHCA

Provisional Administrator

Katie is the Provisional Administrator at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. Katie has worked at the facility since 2016. Starting as a CNA, she then transferred to the Business Office Manager role and now the Provisional Administrator. Katie attended North Iowa Area Community College where she graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration, Diploma in Management, and Certificate in Foundations of Business in 2020. In 2023, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration. Katie enjoys working at Riceville Family Care because everyone works together to make the facility a great place to live, work, and visit.

Sabree Bigley

Business Office Manager

Sabree is the Business Office Manager at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. Sabree has worked at Riceville Family Care since 2022. She attended NIACC after graduating from Osage Community Highschool. She then worked at Riceville Community Schools as a Paraprofessional from 2019-2022. Sabree's favorite part about working at Riceville Family Care is the close-knit atmosphere and being able to lean on one another.

Kirby Weida, RN

Director of Nursing

Kirby is Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center's Director of Nursing. She is an RN with several years of experience. Kirby has been a part of the Riceville Family Care family since 2001. Kirby lives north of Riceville with her husband and three children. She loves being a part of the Riceville Family Care family and team and loves making it feel like home. 

Jordan Bauer, LPN

MDS Coordinator/Assistant Director of Nursing

Jordan is the MDS Coordinator and Assistant Director of Nursing at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. Jordan has worked at the facility since 2017. Jordan started as a CNA and after nursing school, transitioned into the role of the Assistant Director of Nursing and MDS Coordinator.  She completed her Licensed Practical Nursing degree through North Iowa Area Community College.  Jordan enjoys working at Riceville Family Care because of the close family she has gained through the years, the continuous growth within staff, and the relationships created with residents and their families. 

Michele Ring, BSW

Licensed Social Worker

Michele is the Social Worker at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. Michele has worked at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center since 2005. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Social Work and has been working in long-term care for the past 20 years.  Michele enjoys working at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center because of our senior population’s wisdom and strength, the valuable lessons they have taught, and the humble feeling of being able to support them and their families. 

Darla Perzynski

Activity Director

Darla is the Activity Director at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. Darla has worked at Riceville Family Care since 2017, holding experience as an activity director since 2007. Darla also holds her Certified Nurse Aide license. Darla plans a variety of fun and adventurous activities for all the residents. The most enjoyable part of her job is seeing all the residents smile and hearing their stories.

Christopher Byron

Maintenance Supervisor

Christopher is the Maintenance Supervisor at Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. Chris started at the facility in 2022. He earned his Associate of Applied Science degree in 2008 and is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biology. Chris served in the United States Air Force for 20 years encompassing weapons system maintenance, production flow optimization, logistics, and senior-level management. Chris’ most important enjoyable part of his job is ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for the residents. He takes great pride in working diligently to maintain the facility, address any maintenance needs promptly and create a space where both residents and staff feel at home.

Jennifer Holdeman

Certified Dietary Manager

Jennifer is the Certified Dietary Manager at Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center. Jennifer started at the facility in 2011 as a CNA. In March of 2022, she transitioned into the dietary department. Jennifer earned her Certificate of Certified Dietary Managers through Des Moines Area Community College. She is also ServSafe Certified. Jennifer’s most enjoyable part of her job is providing the residents with well balanced meals that also taste great. She also enjoys the homelike family feel and wonderful teamwork.

Jeff Nasstrom, D.O.

Medical Director

Dr. Nasstrom graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and completed his medical schooling at Des Moines University.  Dr. Nasstrom is board certified in Family Practice and is the current Medical Director for Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center.
